Our school is a great place to learn and work. ISL’s spacious campus is a green oasis in the city centre where we have many modern, attractive classrooms, and are working to upgrade the rest. Students at ISL are friendly and diverse, making it easy for newcomers of all backgrounds to feel welcome. We have, in my view, the best faculty in Lusaka. Our experienced and qualified teachers have a great track record of helping students succeed.
We are primarily an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, although we have other curriculums as part of our programme. The IB has international mindedness at its heart and encourages students to become knowledgeable, principled and open-minded. Our comprehensive learning support department and after school academic support helps all students find success. Our students begin their education with the IB Primary Years Programme, an inquiry-based curriculum organized around broad, transdisciplinary themes and end it with the IB Diploma Programme, a challenging university preparation course.
There’s plenty going on outside class, too. Each year group has as part of the curriculum an annual off-campus trip to places such as Kafue National Park and Lower Zambezi National Park. Community service is an integral part of our school throughout the year groups. We have an extensive selection of after school activities. Our older students participate in Model United Nations in school and beyond, plus we have active sports teams and tournaments. There is always something happening at ISL!
