Job Description


Job Overview: The Audit and Tax Assistant supports the audit and tax functions within the organization, working closely with the audit and tax teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and adherence to accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Audit Support:

    • Assist in planning and executing financial statement audits.
    • Conduct substantive testing, analytical procedures, and compliance testing.
    • Document and evaluate internal controls and processes.
    • Prepare comprehensive workpapers to support audit findings.
  2. Tax Compliance:

    • Contribute to the preparation of tax returns for individuals, corporations, and other entities.
    • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
    • Assist in gathering relevant information for tax filings.
    • Collaborate with the tax team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
  3. Financial Analysis:

    • Analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
    • Support financial and management reporting.
  4. Client Interaction:

    • Collaborate with clients to obtain necessary information and resolve inquiries.
    • Maintain positive and professional client relationships.
  5. Documentation and Recordkeeping:

    • Maintain organized and accurate records of audit and tax-related documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
  6. Continuous Learning:

    • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, auditing practices, and tax regulations.
    • Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities.
  7. Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with audit and tax teams to achieve project objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in the regulatory environment.


  • Previous experience in accounting, auditing, or tax-related roles is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with accounting and tax software is advantageous.
