The Company is now looking to recruit highly committed employees for the position of Senior Simulator Trainer to join Underground Production teams in other Barrick sites in Africa.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Coordinator – Mining Training, you will be responsible for supervising all simulator related activities including refresher and SOP trainings. Ensure all relevant paperwork is filled and timely handed over to the administrator.
Responsibilities
Ensure all standard operating procedures pertaining to equipment operations are followed accurately and fully communicated to operators and supervisors
Follow the training process as outlined in the ‘Field Trainers development programme’
Maintain a pro-active approach to all aspects of operational and behavioural safety and encourage teamwork within the section according to company values.
Conduct daily simulator and classroom inspections to ensure readiness for conducive training environment.
Assist to set up and monitor other training activities at employee development centre
Experience & Qualifications
Grade 12 certificate
Diploma or related qualification in training and assessment
Three (3) years’ experience in mining environment
Certificate in Simulator training
Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, power point presentations and spreadsheet applications.
Must have sound Knowledge of safe working procedures and mine operations
Experience in large multi pit operational operation and utilization of large scale mining equipment.i.e Wheel Dozer, trucks, excavators, face shovels, track dozers and loaders will be an added advantage
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
