The Mine seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual in the following position:

SENIOR PRODUCTION GEOLOGIST (x1)

This position reports to the Geology Superintendent

Core Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for all production geology related activities of the mine.

Key Performance Areas/Indicators (KPA/Is):

• Manage the daily, weekly and monthly production reports
• Update the stopes and ore drives status on the production boards
• Underground production monitoring and diamond site /drilling inspections
• Planning, preparation of diamond drill plans and drilling layouts
• Ensure diamond drilling and logging of completed drill holes are conducted safely
• Ensure QA-QC protocols, drill core property tests such as specific gravity (SG and ore mineralogy) are done for all competed drill holes
• Detailed lithological logging
• Supervise diamond drilling contractor services, reports and invoices

Academic Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mineral Science (Geology) or equivalent
• Member of Geoscience professional body
• Five years experience in an Underground Mining Operation
• Good Knowledge in database management such as acquire and any other database formats
• Knowledge of underground diamond drilling techniques, internal borehole surveys, core recoveries and RQD measurements
• Robust Excel analytical skills for daily, weekly and monthly production data
• Practical experience in use of application software such as Datamine, Surpac, Vulcan, Micromine etc.
