Position: Provincial Supply Chain Coordinator
Location: Mansa, Kasama, Chinsali

Contract type: Fixed Term
Contract duration: Two (2) Years

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Pharmacy
  • 5 years’ experience in a busy environment including public health facility supply chain management
  • Familiarity with proper handling of private information and protocol regarding client confidentiality
  • Ability to multi – task efficiently and prioritize activities in support of the project goals and deadlines
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
  • Good understanding of supply chain practices
  • Working with priority health programs (HIV & TB), as well as supply chain and pharmaceutical management systems specific to HIV & TB
  • Member of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)

Key Performance Areas

  • Conduct ongoing assessments and situational analysis to identify gaps within the supply chain system
  • Implement strategies to effectively manage stock and ensure quality and safety of pharmaceutical products in the clinics
  • Ensure availability of provincial primary health care (PHC) pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOPs), Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs) and Essential Medicines List (EML) in all facilities
  • Ensure compliance with good pharmacy practices and good dispensing practices
  • Evaluate patient’s medicine related needs by determining the indications, safety and effectiveness of therapy
  • Clinical Pharmacy to ensure efficacy, safety and continued access to ARVs for inpatients
  • Ensure that all supported clinics have stock cards and files for managing stock
  • Compile weekly /monthly stock status reports
  • Coordinate the implementation of Differentiated Models of ART delivery (DMAD) projects (e.g., MMSD, Home deliveries and Community Pick points)
  • Provide training and mentorship on DMAD projects
  • Stakeholder engagements and meetings e.g. MoH, ZAMMSA, ZAMRA, Other Implementing Partners: GHSC-PSM, CHAZ, JSI,CDC etc.
  • Ensure that facilities are reporting medicine availability as required on Stock Visibility System (e.g., SMS 4 Life)
