Job Description

Job Purpose

The Head Commercial will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for growing Digital PayGo’s business, increasing its revenue, finding new business opportunities, and building the company’s brand. He/She will also lead the sales function with the purpose of helping the company achieve its revenue targets and strategic goals. The occupant of this position will define and communicate the company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets to team members, analyse patterns in consumer and market behaviour, and subsequently define data-driven action strategies to consistently optimize the business’s commercial performance. The Head-Commercial will also play a leadership role for the entire marketing efforts of the department and directly oversee the company’s brand management and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and overseeing digital marketing strategies in order to maximize and enhance Digital PayGo’s consumer reach and customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Leading the company’s efforts in the development of the product’s competitive differentiation, product positioning, product messaging, and go-to-market strategies, marketing collaterals and related metrices.
  • Establishing effective relationships with cross-functional partners (Internal & External) in order to drive commercially effective business models.
  • Leading and scaling the Sales, Business Development, Product Marketing and Customer experience teams.
  • Generating and qualifying new leads and using different approaches to penetrate prospective accounts through developing new business relationships with the objective of generating and negotiating new revenue for the company.
  • Defining sales objectives and driving the team to achieve targets.
  • Creating and executing marketing plans.
  • Identifying product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Developing business cases for products as well as pitch documentation tailored to the specific customer needs.
  • Keeping abreast with product pricing and developing pricing policies.
  • Creating and delivering media neutral communications and programmes to the legal marketplace across both traditional and digital channels, that are relevant, targeted, interesting and engaging.
  • Presenting the company to potential clients through various communication channels, i.e. in personal meetings, calls or by e-mails.
  • Maintaining relationships with Corporates/Companies by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Interacting effectively with other departments including account management and technical team.
  • Ensure effective handover of signed contracts to project delivery teams enabling fulfilment of contract obligations.
  • Building a high performing sales team to execute end to end sales including outreach, pitching, getting alignment, negotiation, closing deals and implementation.
  • Ensuring a robust after-sales process to deliver strong customer engagement.
  • Ensuring timely recognition and reward for top achievers and implementing performance management actions when needed.
  • Building strong and collaborative relationships with other internal stakeholders.
  • Monitoring market trends and providing regular competitor analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field.
  • A master’s degree would be an added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years’ working experience, of which at least three (3) years should be in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven business development, sales, or marketing experience.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
