Job Description

Position Title: Fleet Assistant (x2)

Position Type: Full Time

Location: (1) Kabwe and (1) Ndola

Job Summary

The Fleet Assistant is a full-time position to be based in Kabwe and Ndola . S/he will be responsible for assisting in the Fleet Coordinator in coordination of transport for the Province. This position will be responsible for adhering to all relevant JSI and USAID policies and regulations while maintaining smooth and efficient transport management for the Province. S/he will report directly to the Fleet Coordinator. This is not a driver position.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for ensuring that all drivers adhere to organizational polices on vehicle usage at all times
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Vehicles, Motor Bikes, and Gen sets are well serviced and maintained and ensure that maintenance schedules for service and repairs are followed and the fleet coordinator informed
  • Ensure that drivers clean and maintain vehicles they drive in a good condition at all times
  • Responsible for checking and confirming that the vehicle bi- weekly Inspections is adhered to by all drivers
  • Responsible for Vehicle refueling and Collection of statements and Invoices.
  • Ensuring that all vehicle logbooks are reviewed and updated correctly by all drivers.
  • Responsible to ensuring that drivers with vehicles due for routine service are well planned before booking.
  • Help the Fleet Coordinator with reconciliation of fuel and e-toll card accounts
  • Any other tasks that may assigned by the supervisor.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Transport and Logistics.
  • Must be a member of ZCILT
  • Grade Twelve Certificate
  • A minimum of 3 years’ practical experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills are required;
  • Ability to easily communicate in a clear and courteous manner with all colleagues and vendors;
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision;
  • Highly proficient in common computer packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel) relevant to the work;
  • Paying attention to detail is an essential advantage
