Job Description

We are inviting applications to fill the following vacant position:

DEPOT CLERK 01– KASAMA

GRADE D

CONTRACT: PERMANENT

Reporting to the Sales and Distribution Supervisor, the successful candidate will be accountable for the following:

• Maintaining and improving all the control systems and procedures including inventory management, stock movement, order receiving, processing and dispatching.
• Periodically checking quality and quantity of stock received daily, weekly and monthly.
• Reconciliation of cash banked against Route Settlement report.
• Every so often check the stock sheets and explain variances.
• Ensuring that breakages are controlled according to the standards.
• Following up overages and shortages as reflected on route settlement and charging respective accounts.
• Preparing accurate daily, monthly and ad-hoc reports timeously.
• Managing the distribution function to standard for effectiveness.
• Ensure that the office is clean, tidy and in an hygienic state.
• Accurate and timeous input of data in the system
• Printing accounts statements and issue of receipts to customers
• Liaising with sales and distribution team on non-paying customers
• Filing systematically all accounts receivables and proof of deliveries (PODs)
• Assisting in stock taking

This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Certificate/Diploma in Accounting.
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of SAP is added advantage.
• At least 2 years working experience.
• Honest, reliable, self-disciplined and ability to work under pressure.
