Job Description & Key Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates plant equipment to maintain safe, efficient and continuous plant operations.
• Makes adjustments to controls system so that system performance is optimized.
• Makes rounds to check conditions of plant equipment and records operational data on log sheets.
• Recognizes and mitigates operating difficulties to minimize plant down time.
• Responsible for daily operations, maintenance, and repair, including daily logs, preventive maintenance tasks and reporting requirements.
• Provides equipment inspection, maintenance tasks, troubleshooting and diagnoses of plant equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory safety standards and protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret materials, operate plant equipment
• Performs other duties as maybe assigned.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

• Posses Diploma In Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering or related field,
• GCE Certificate holders with experience in a Coal Gasification Technology are encourage to apply,
• Must be Mechanical proficiency – Able to operate various plant equipment (pumps, fans) and conduct equipment inspections, and perform maintenance,
• Must have a minimum of 03 – 05 years experience in a Coal gasification processing plant,
• Hands – on experience on maintenance of Coal gasification processing machinery,
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and in high pressure place,
• Must be able to hear alarms and timers and differentiate between the different normal and abnormal noises, sounds and alarms found in the operation of plant,
• Vision requirements – posses the ability to see instrument read-outs, charts, gauges, and alarm windows,
• Able to perform labor intensive work when required.
• Must be available to work shifts, weekends and on public holidays.
