Job Description

A reputable and fast-growing bakery is seeking a skilled and creative Cake Baker to join its production team and deliver high-quality cakes and pastries that meet customer expectations and brand standards.

Job Purpose

The Cake Baker will be responsible for preparing, baking, decorating, and presenting cakes and related bakery products while maintaining consistency, quality, and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake, and decorate cakes, pastries, and specialty baked products
• Design and decorate cakes for birthdays, weddings, corporate events, and special occasions
• Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation
• Measure and prepare ingredients accurately
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure product quality
• Maintain cleanliness of baking equipment, tools, and work areas
• Assist with stock control of baking ingredients and supplies
• Minimize wastage and report any stock variances
• Comply strictly with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards

Key Skills & Requirements

• Proven experience in cake baking and decoration
• Creativity and strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and cake finishing methods
• Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required
• Demonstrate strong cake decorating skills, including professional creaming techniques using FIMO, to achieve smooth, consistent, and high-quality finishes.
