QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • An appropriate recognised Accounting Qualification plus ZICA affiliation
  • 1 year experience in the field of Accounting /Business dealing with asset management and /or Inventory management

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Part CA Zambia/ACCA/CIMA or Equivalent,
  • Computer literacy,
  • Sage Pastel Evolution
  • 2 years’ hands on experience in the field of Accounting /Business dealing with asset management and /or Inventory management.
  • Knowledge of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to Asset Management and database systems and software for equipment and inventory

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Responsible to reconcile fixed assets to the general ledger assets accounts for submission to the line Manager.
  • Record and tag all company fixed assets before distributing to users and record details on the FAR.
  • Build, Load and update the Fixed Asset Register for additions and disposals
  • Tracking capital assets procured but pending delivery and ensure that once delivered, they are timeously captured to the respective ledgers.
  • Perform monthly Depreciation of FA calculation for submission to line manager
  • Carry out monthly Fixed Asset Insurance Reconciliation and notify the line manager for any variances
  • Check the GL allocations to ensure that the allocation to the GL is per chart of accounts and is duly authorised by budget holders
  • Ensuring that all assets other than those recognized under the Main FAR are classified as Minor Assets as per internal policy.
  • Assist by providing the necessary information and documents for audit purpose to both internal and external auditors.
  • Initiate asset journals and generate correcting entries for review and posting by line manager
  • Prepare consolidated asset disclosure note monthly for review by line manager
  • Assist review month end closing processes for assets for all grants
  • Assist the Accountant with other asset management processes.
